Think about it.

Back in the day, everyone assumed that the more tv channels you had, the more awesome life would become. The truth of it? There isn't enough good writing or production out there to warrant having so many channels. So in the end, we have to sift through a bunch of crap to get to anything worth seeing.

Back in the day, everyone assumed that being able to look up anything, socialize with anywhere, etc. would be an awesome thing to have at the tips of your fingers. The truth of it? The more "connected" today's youth becomes, the more disaffected today's youth becomes.

Following that line of reasoning, having the widest window to the world that is conceivable- would actually bring altogether new levels of suck.

So, I randomly had a revelation today.

I can never date a deaf girl. Why? Because every time she asked me what I was up to, and I expressed "listening to music"? I would suddenly feel bad.

So, someone from my graduating class died this morning. His doctor yesterday gave him about 24 hours.

I am reminded of my own mortality more than I have been in a long time.

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 85 films, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, post to your LJ and paste this as a note. Then, put x's next to the films you've seen, add them up, and use your number as the header.

In the grand stylings of the way Kristendigicrys goes over this, thus shall I.

Massive drama at the start of the year -----
The continuation of said drama, for a very, very extended period of time ---
Get Smart +
Wall-E ++
The Dark Knight +
Iron Man +
Horton Hears A Who +
Finally seeing Fight Club ++
Nearly not graduating -----
Buying my senior year book +
Realizing that I was not looking forward to post high school, and would rather go back and redo the previous ~6 years ----
Camping with Kristen ++++
My friends hanging out to celebrate my birthday ---
Spending time in Kristen's apartment +++
Spending the night ++
Attending LCC -
Finally getting a job +
Subsequently realizing that you're treated roughly the same as the machines you run at said job ---
Wrath of the Lich King ++
Being arrested for a crime I didn't commit, and all of the subsequent trauma due to certain conditions ----------
Obama got elected +++
Depression let up a fair amount +++
Anxiety did the exact opposite, however ---
Discovering much in the way of music, movies, and comics +++
Losing touch with most friends --
Finding out that said friends did a complete 180 on who they were in high school ---
Improvements in relationship, making right now the closest thing I've ever had to what I would call a healthy relationship +++++
A lot of the internet losing its sense of humor ---

Positives: 35
Negatives: 45

Despite the fact that it was such a bad year overall, I'm optimistic about the next one. A lot of the negative was associated with high school, and that chapter of my life is mostly behind me, with only a few ghosts here and there.

This is a picture of my cat.  She was around for every day of my life since I was one year old. I have known her longer than I have known anyone or anything- outside of my parents and a few more distant relatives. Today this is over. She was very old, obviously (18, if you can't do math or don't know my age), and had her share of old age issues- blind, deaf and arthritic. Still, at the same time that I'm glad she doesn't have to deal with these things any more- it makes me sad that this had to come.

Yes, I am getting emotional over a cat. Although it's excusable, I think. Our pets are more a part of our home than almost anything else. They're the only ones we can count on not to judge us when we're being candid, they're warm when the evenings are cold, etc.

But not today.

Dear diary, today something that really sucks happened.

So, I was walking to class... la la la, and I saw several of my friends from high school. So, I walked up to them.... and then realized something. Every single one of them was smoking. >_< Now, to some people, I can see where this wouldn't be a big deal, but for me? I was shocked and disgusted. I felt like I would throw up on the spot. Back in high school, these people were cool. They seemed to give a damn about their lives. And here we are, a paltry four months later.... and it's like they're completely different people.

Essentially, one of the few pillars of optimism left in my life (at least I still have my friends, and they're still awesome) has just been shattered.

Someone please tell me how to cope? Or just come to my house, slap me, and say "get over it you whiny little emo bitch"

ehh, I was averse to it. But I was told to post it, so yeah.

One little compliment can make you feel amazing. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty. Put this in your journal. And once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and this will remind that you're not so bad in other people's eyes after all.

First of all, my opinion of the movie: Very, very good. Personally, it's not a masterpiece (my idea of a masterpiece movie is one that could honestly not be improved upon, and this one could), but it's pretty damn close.

So yeah, I took Kristen to go see this movie yesterday, we showed up an hour before the 3:40 showing to buy our tickets (we were afraid that if we left it too long, they would be sold out) and headed across the street to the mall until roughly 3:15. When we got back to the theater? There was a line to get in that wrapped almost all the way around the inside of the lobby area; which honestly wasn't that bad, considering that when we got out? The line for the next showing extended out the door and into the parking lot fifteen or so yards.

In the end, it's the combination of the acting, the characters themselves, and the atmosphere that the movie gives off that really win me over.

I posted a while back, freaking out about my Trigenometry grade. As of today, I passed that class and will, in fact, be able to walk at commencement on Sunday. It should also be noted that my grade in the class was something like a 59.55 or some such. Which is a shame, I kind of wish it was an exact 59.5 if only because then I could claim I really DID do the minimum the class required.

Anyway, my parents were all "congrats! :D" and I was all "meh, I told you I would"

... yeah.
